A light and Airy Philanthropic Remodel

Flooring: Monarch Plank

Lago Collection, "Como"

Location: Salt Lake City, UT

A surprise remodel is a feat in itself, but to transform a virtually untouched 40 year old space in a shockingly short 3 week window takes on an extraordinary level of planning and dedication.

This philanthropic project, spearheaded by Crystal Ann along with designer/builders Sarah Gibson and Kristen, re-envisioned the kitchen of a long deserving, health compromised mother of four who, working 3 simultaneous jobs, had changed little in her old, antiquated kitchen.

Crystal envisioned the kitchen room being bright, light-filled, and cheerful for her aunt. It was this desire for such a light space that drew her to one of Monarch Plank’s lightest hardwood floors, Lago Como. "I decided to go with Lago Como flooring because it is light and airy. The flooring hides crumbs and dirt really well. After installation the flooring immediately transformed the space by making it beautiful, bright and spacious!" -Crystal Ann

The bright white color of the walls and cabinetry, provide a natural backdrop highlighting the subtle natural hues in the European Oak floors  and creating a clean, serene environment. “It’s clean, modern (but inviting), and will make the perfect fresh canvas for Patty to make her own,” suggest Sarah Gibson. Other highlights of the project include the stylish floating shelves, sunny breakfast nook and custom hood.
